Definitely a new spin on the typical Colleen Hoover novels..with this spine chilling take that gives you a peek into what can grief drive one to do and the great sacrifice of love unsung.

I have no words except that I was hooked from beginning to the end. If you haven't read it please do, it's just so...I don't even have words.

“My mother used to say that houses have a soul, and if that is true, the soul of Verity Crawford’s house is as dark as they come”
If you have read my previous review of the book, you will understand how creeped out I was by Verity. I needed to put a safe distance between me and the book to talk about it. So I took three days and finally I am here.
After reading this book, I laughed at myself, because you see I thought this book had a fantasy element to it, and it included romance because of the cover. I imagined that the cover depicted some magical element!!! Can you believe that?? I am sooooo messed up!! Now after reading the book, I understand what it REALLY depicts.
Please go into Verity knowing that it is a psycho-thriller , and definitely a mindfuck (excuse my language).
Verity is a haunting tale that explores the darkest and the murkiest depths of a human mind. Deviating from the usual CoHo style, everything is deeply hidden in the book, only to be revealed at the end. But there is an element of forbidden romance in it too.
Lowen Ashleigh is a writer on the brink of financial ruin. She is talented but over the years, looking after her dying mom has demanded both her money and time.
Just as she is coming to terms with her rapidly increasing debts and a fast depleting bank balance, an opportunity of a lifetime comes her way. She is approached to complete a bestselling series as a co-author; a series penned by the very famous Verity Crawford.
Verity is left incapacitated by a car accident.Lowen is invited by Jeremy, Verity’s husband to the Crawford mansion to look over the drafts of the series, so she can continue writing.
Things take a dark turn from there. Lowen discovers Verity’s autobiography draft named ‘So Be It’ . Lowen is left intrigued, confused and lost while coming into terms with the secrets she unburied.
I have said this before, CoHo’s writing is addictive which is why I finished it in 3 hours and then went on to have an existential crisis. My initial reactions were “WHAT THE HECK, COLLEN HOOVER????????”
The ending of the book did not provide me with answers, just more and more questions. But that’s exactly why I loved Verity more. Oh my god, that definitely was a wild ride, and it definitely was not fun. It was creepy, cruel and very very sinister, but yet again, I loved it.
Collen Hoover, you are amazing, and you gave me a book that’s so much more messed up than me. I thought I was the one who was messed up. But after reading Verity, I understand that I am definitely not messed up. ?
By all means, GO AND PICK THIS BOOK UP.
But beware, you need to be well prepared for such a read as Verity.
